Muntadas: Proyectos
Spanish vanguard artist Antoni Muntadas has long considered the process of language and translation as his base materials. In a 1995 manifesto, the artist proclaimed his concern with the way in which the transmission of information through different systems and its subsequent translation can transform, fragment, deform, and even obscure or censor any original meaning. Since then, Muntadas' work has continuously been fed by such concerns. This current catalogue is no exception. An extension of Muntadas' recent solo show at the Laboratorio de Arte Alameda in Mexico City, this publication offers a critical view of what the artist proposes in his deconstruction of language.

Marc-Pierre de Voyer de Paulmy, comte d'Argenson - D'Argenson supported the Encyclopedists of d'Alembert and Diderot, who's first volumes were dedicated to him and provided his friend Voltaire with material for his Siècle de Louis XIV. He had to abdicate through the influenceof Madame de Pompadour in 1757, was confined to his country seat Ormes and returned to Paris only after the death of his powerful enemy.

Jean Lévesque de Burigny - Jean Lévesque de Burigny (born 1692, Reims, France - died 1785, Paris) was a historian, who in 1713, with his brothers, Champeaux and Lévesque de Pouilly, he began to compile a dictionary of universal knowledge, similar to an encyclopedia, which comprised twelve large manuscript folios, and afforded Burigny ample material for his subsequent works. In 1718, at The Hague, he worked with Saint-Hyacinthe on L'Europe savante, in twelve volumes, of which he contributed at least one-half.

Rafe de Crespigny - Dr Rafe de Crespigny (full name: Richard Rafe Champion de Crespigny; born 1936) is a retired Adjunct Professor with the China and Korea Centre, Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. He specialises in Chinese history, geography and literature in the Han Dynasty period and has been acknowledged internationally as a pioneer in the translation and historiography of historical material concerning the Three Kingdoms period.

Si6 - Si6 is the codename of the Laboratorio de Investigación y Desarrollo en Seguridad Informática (Information Security Research and Development Laboratory) of the Argentine CITEFA (Instituto de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas de las Fuerzas Armadas, Armed Forces Scientific and Technical Research Institute).
